Heath & Shae | Olympic Peninsula Adventure Session

When we created adventure sessions, we had two thoughts in mind. The first was for a couple who wanted to put on some hiking shoes and really get to a spot few other couples get to go for professional photos. The second was for a couple who wanted to showcase as much of what they love about the PNW as possible in one session. Heath and Shae came to us looking for the latter. They had both moved to Washington from the southeast and fell in love with the area. Even though they are getting married back home, they wanted their engagement photos to tell a story of their lives together in Washington. And of course they wanted to include lots of the beautiful scenery the state has to offer! They asked for our suggestions on location and we suggested an Olympic Peninsula adventure session, with stops at Lake Crescent and Ruby Beach. Since Olympic National Park is special to them, they were totally on board! Sadly we had planned to get some mountain views during the session as well, but the clouds did not cooperate. The forest was as lush and green as we’ve ever seen it, and they brought along the cutest bikes. They restored and customized the bikes themselves! So naturally we went on a ride in the woods before heading to Ruby Beach. Instead of the bright and colorful sunset we were hoping for, we got some typical PNW grey clouds and fog. If you can’t learn to love the grey clouds, can you really say you love the PNW, though? We loved hanging out with these two and driving to some of our favorite spots with them!
