Heather & Bernie’s Adventure | Silverdale Engagement Photos on the Clear Creek Trail
When a couple asks if they can bring their dog, or dogs, to their session, we immediately get a little more excited. We are HUGE dog people (if you couldn’t tell…) and when we have to leave our own dogs at home to go to work, at least we know can love on someone else’s dogs! But don’t tell Sophie and Delilah, they’d be jealous. Heather and Bernie had two stipulations for their engagement photos – that there be a forest, and a field. We searched around the area and asked a few photographers if they knew of a location that had both, but nothing was quite clicking until we decided to go on a walk. In Silverdale there is an awesome trail system called the Clear Creek Trail (named after Clear Creek, which runs through town). We’ve walked on the parts along the waterfront, and knew there were gorgeous wooded sections, but we hit the jackpot when we took the dogs on a walk and found a gorgeous tall grass field, about a week before the session. Apparently we took fields for granted in Kansas, we didn’t realize a good, public field would ever be something hard to find! Long story short, the Clear Creek Trail provided us an amazing forest AND field location for Heather and Bernie’s engagement photos. But, they made the session absolutely magic with their ability to let go of any previous photography pretenses and smile, laugh, and be themselves with us. Sometimes one of the hardest parts of a session is breaking down those barriers to getting authentic emotions (and SMILES!) but with these two it was cake and the results are adorable.
