Intimate Wedding | Fall City, Washington

We’ve been patiently waiting for our first TreeHouse Point wedding since we moved to Washington. TreeHouse Point is such a unique and magical place for an intimate wedding. We are so glad we connected with Lori and Andy. Their wedding date was for our last free Saturday last summer, so it was kind of meant to be.

The couple was traveling to Washington to have their wedding at TreeHouse Point because it was special to them. Each and every one of their guests in attendance was so important to them, since they had traveled with them to be a part of the day. The intimate wedding day was as much about their connection to their closest friends and family as it was about their vows, and starting their life together.

Each wedding day, although they generally follow the same outline, has something that sticks out about it. Lori and Andy’s wedding day had us moving between “aww” moments and laugh out loud moments faster than any we’ve ever been a part of. It was the good kind of an emotional roller coaster that we were so glad we could document for them!

Small Intimate Elopement | SODO Seattle

This Corson Building Wedding was the perfect union of intimate wedding day and formal garden party. It was our first of hopefully many visits to the Corson Buidling in the SODO neighborhood in Seattle. The small space packs a big punch of photographic charm. The grounds are surrounded by lush gardens of herbs, vegetables, and all manor of flora that drapes almost every surface at the small property. It usually functions as a farm to table restaurant, but if you are a foodie you’ll want to rent it for your wedding!

When we arrived we found our bride upstairs in the loft adorning a flower crown that would perfectly match her surroundings. They wanted to keep things simple, and so did we. For their first look we chose the courtyard right in front of the Corson Building, it was the perfect backdrop. Then, we spent their portrait time weaving among all the garden beds.

After some time for portraits, we joined their friends and family for a beautiful ceremony performed by the groom’s father. The tears and the laughter reminded us why we love this job and telling these stories. That is one of our favorite parts about intimate weddings – less people, but the same amount of emotions! The joy didn’t end there though, as everyone made their way over to the lush outdoor dining area for dinner and toasts. It was the perfect dinner party celebrating the union as the sun went down.

Adventure Engagement Photos | Olympic National Park

Eva and Jared drove all the way from Bellingham to meet us for this summer Lake Cushman engagement photos! They wanted a location that celebrated their love for everything outdoorsy in the PNW – and they chose perfectly. Although a little hesitant in front of the camera at first, these two warmed up so quickly once they realized there was nothing to it! We absolutely love when we can put our couples at ease during their sessions. As soon as we get you comfortable, we can get to our real goal – capturing your personalities and relationship!

Once we got down to the lake, they mentioned how good the water looked. It was a warm day and we had done a bit of hiking around. That casual comment promptly volunteered them both for a dip in the lake at sunset. And a little splash war on the way out.

Elegant Lodge Wedding | Snoqualmie Washington

A Salish Lodge wedding perfectly captures the Seattle area’s breathtaking natural beauty without sacrificing anything for your guests. So when Kelly and Eric chose to get married at the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, we know we were going to be in for a treat. Kelly and the girls got ready in the comfort of one of the lodge’s guest rooms. It was flooded with stunning natural light, and the joy of a bride on her wedding day. The guys were able to enjoy a private balcony overlooking the falls while they chatted, enjoyed a drink and prepared for the ceremony.

As photographers, we love waterfalls! And, Snoqualmie Falls is definitely the focal point at the Salish Lodge. Perhaps the true beauty of the Salish Lodge on a wedding day isn’t the falls it is so famous for, but instead the vast grounds that allow a bride and groom and their friends to escape to some privacy. It is one of these private spots that we chose to have Kelly and Eric see each other for the first time.

Back at the lodge, Kelly and Eric had a beautiful intimate ceremony with their closest friends and families on the patio near the falls. The emotions were flowing, and we couldn’t stop clicking away at all the incredible moments. As sunset approached, we got the idea to take Kelly and Eric on a bit of a field trip to a nearby field with a stunning view of Mt Si, and we are so glad we did! We finished up the night with more dancing and joy, our memory cards full we bid the Salish Lodge and our incredible couple goodbye.

Byron Glacier Trail and Moose Meadows | Anchorage, AK

Katie & John’s Girdwood engagement photos were part of our big trip to Alaska for their wedding last summer! Not only did we get to photograph their wedding in Anchorage, but, we also got to adventure around with them a couple days before. It was so much fun to get to explore different parts of Alaska on our trip. The Girdwood area is a highly recommended place to visit and it is easy to see why. Just the drive alone is worth a couple hours of your time!

We started by meeting up at the Byron Glacier trail. We had high hopes to make it to the glacier, but it had receded quite a ways up the mountain. We had fun hiking our way to a great view of the mountains and away from the crowds. Then, we turned back and did our best to make some of the remaining snow in the valley look as much like a glacier as possible.

After Byron Glacier, we drove back to Girdwood for more mountain views. As soon as we pulled off at Moose Meadows, a downpour started. Thankfully, we didn’t have long to wait before it died down. The moody clouds the rain left behind made the view of the mountains even more epic for us. We absolutely love the more lifestyle and fun feel this session has!

Grand Teton Ranch Wedding | Grand Teton Wyoming

Thrilled is the adjective we would use to describe our excitement for Shannon and Eric’s Turpin Meadow Ranch Wedding in Jackson Wyoming, just outside of Grand Teton National Park. We had been to the Jackson area a few times in the past, only being able to dream of shooting a wedding in the area. Grand Teton is perhaps one of the most stunning landscapes in North America, and an incredible destination for a wedding.

We wanted to make the most of it for Shannon and Eric, so we made sure to cover their welcome party the Friday before the wedding and take the opportunity to meet their amazing family and friends. It was the perfect evening, and an event we can’t recommend enough that everyone have at their own wedding. Most importantly to us, is that it allowed us to get to know everyone and build a level of comfort with guests and family members for the day ahead.

The wedding day began in the cabin that Shannon and the other members of the bride’s tribe were sharing to get ready that morning. From the moment we arrived, we couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by all the amazing little details Shannon and Eric had up their sleeves. Their invitations and paper goods were some of our favorites we had ever seen, and every aspect was meticulously thought out with their guests in mind.

After a morning of fun with the guys and girls, we headed to the ceremony site in the meadow just near the lodge overlooking the magnificent Teton mountains. The ceremony was perfect, full of emotion, and performed by a close friend. From there, it was time to celebrate, and the summer heat didn’t hold anyone back as their friends and family hit the dance floor.

We got one final bit of time with the couple at sunset where we unwittingly put Shannon behind the wheel of a golf cart and headed towards the edge of the meadow. To this day we have never seen someone have so much fun driving anything. It was the perfect end to a perfect day, two people happily married already enjoying every moment.

Skagit Valley Barn Wedding

Courtney and Brady had a beautiful Maplehurst Farm wedding at the height of summer in Washington. The days are long, the sun is bright, and everyone wants to spend as much time outdoors as possible. It’s the perfect time of year for a barn wedding.

When we arrived to Maplehurst Farm in Mount Vernon, the girls were finishing up make-up and the guys were bumming around waiting to get dressed. We love arriving early in the day to a wedding, since it gives us a chance to tell the story of your wedding day from the very beginning.

One of the things that stood out to us about Courtney and Brady’s day was the emotion. There were a number of tear up moments throughout the day. It is evident how much love there is for this couple, and how much they love each other!
